Goals of 2019

New Year’s resolutions often have lots of pressure behind them, but I like New Year’s as a fresh start and time to make new goals. If any weren’t completed last year, then they can be a goal for the new year.

 

Goals of 2019

Blog

  • Post more consistently

    • The goal is 12 posts per month, around 3 per week. But, school is a priority so during the winter term it may be less. Once school is out for the summer posts will be more consistent.
  • Hit 2,000 followers

    • Just about at 1,500 followers at the moment!
  • Post more fashion?

    • It’s fun making outfits and it will bring some more blog content!
  • Hit 1,000 followers on Instagram

    • Maybe, possibly?
  • Figure out additional ways to monetize the blog

    • I will be starting to post more on how I blog. Currently have just set up Google Ads but there are more ways possible.

 

Health/Fitness

  • Continue working on running endurance

    • I have just started working on being able to run fairly slowly for a longer distance so working on increasing that is my goal.
  • And then running speed

    • Once my cardio endurance has been built up a bit I can start increasing my speed of running.
  • Daily stretching

    • Got to stretch more.
  • More yoga!

    • I always say this, then I’m always unmotivated to actually do yoga.
  • Daily meditation

    • Towards the beginning of last year I was consistently working on meditation but now I need to pick it up a bit.
  • Plan food to take to school

    • Will be making a meal plan for each term so I don’t get bored of lunches.

 

School/Career

  • Better studying/time management

    • Studying more consistently throughout the term, scheduling everything and less procrastinating.
  • Possibly orientation volunteer

    • Mayyyybe.
  • Volunteering/job shadowing

    • During the summer job shadow some more.
  • Get CPR & First Aid certified

    • It’s pretty much required for all healthcare related jobs so it will be good to have.
  • Maybe, possibly, yoga instruction training

    • Again, mayyyybe.

 

Random

  • Learn skincare

    • To lessen makeup wearing which saves time & money and it’s also a good hobby. As well, as part of health. I’ll be posting trying out products and making homemade ones!
  • Actually legit drive

    • Have to get the next part of the driving license. And practice a lot.
  • Use social media less

    • For better mental health and to save more time.
  • Get more plants for my room and pick flowers in spring

    • I had 4 cacti but now I’m down to 2.

2018 Goals Completed

2018 was a very busy year and a lot of goals were completed. At the beginning of the year I posted a list of goals I wanted to complete and now it’s time to revisit them!

Last year’s goals and how I progressed

School

  • Finish making transcripts for my courses to send to universities.

Soooo, this went a bit by the wayside. The school ended up not needing transcripts (like I had originally thought) and asked that I take the required courses for my program online.

  • Complete uni application.

It was a long haul but the application was completed!

  • Get into the school of choice!

The most relieving moment was checking the website and seeing the offer of admission. 

  • Finish off all of my high school courses!

Also, a very long haul, but eventually all of the finals were completed and I finished grade 12.

 

Blog

  • Get blog to 1,000 followers!

Yes!! The blog is at 1,400 right now! Thank you, everyone, for following along and reading all the posts and I hope you enjoy future posts.

  • Get the blog to make money to help out with uni costs.

The blog moved to a new home and then I was able to set up Google ads and working on other sources still.

  • Post more frequently.

I had been consistently posting until university began but making some time for blogging will be a 2019 goal!

Health and fitness

  • Run a half marathon, if I’m feeling crazy. Or a 10k is much more reasonable.

A half marathon was ambitious. But now I can run 10 km consistently so improvement there!

  • Do more ab and upper body workouts!

I’ve been working on lifting and lots of ab workouts so definitely better than last year.

  • Try other forms of exercise and sports.

Mostly, this was just to cross train from running, which I have been working on by strength training more.

  • More yoga and stretching.

I’ve actually been stretching way less than before. But this will be a 2019 goal!

Fun and creativity

  • Work on art more.

I did paint a bit more and do some drawing.

  • And photography.

Definitely lots of photography this year.

  • Travel if there are opportunities to.

YES! I went to Niagara Falls, Colorado, England, Ireland, Scotland and France. Probably the most travelling in a year I will do.

  • Make a reading list and read more.

I honestly don’t remember how much reading I did but I did read a few books.

 

“Adulting”

  • Get driver’s license.

I got the first level of license, G1, but I have never driven still. Since it was just a written test.

  • Budget and learn more personal finance.

 

I did just the other day! A post will be coming on how I budget.

 

Random other things completed

  • I got my braces off!
  • I met online friends, twice.
  • The blog Instagram hit over 500 followers. Woo!
  • Went to (about half) of the school orientation week.
  • Got my first job.
  • Went through my first round of university midterms and finals.
  • Went to school for the first time.
  • Tried new foods. A food photo journal from my UK trip will be coming soon.
  • Completed the SATs.

Goals Completed 2017

At the very start of this year, I posted some of my 2017 goals, so now that it’s the end of the year it’s time to revisit them and see how far I’ve come!

 

Last years goals and how I progressed

  • To be less anxious. I’ve often struggled with anxiety so I would like to work on keeping it under control and managing stress. 

This has actually improved A LOT! First, I think with just a little bit of age it helps since it seems like anxiety can be a teenager thing. I learnt more about anxiety and how it works which helped on how to overcome it. Journalling, harder workouts, and consciously trying to relax are among some of the things that have helped me.

  • To be kinder to myself. Sometimes I just get a little too critical of myself.

I hope this has improved, I haven’t tried too hard, to be honest, but I think it’s better.

  • Take more risks. I’ve always been afraid of risks but there’s not a lot of fun in not taking any.

I didn’t take any big risks, which is good! But there were times I think I went out of my comfort zone and that’s the main goal!

  • Get school things organized, make a new schedule style, stay motivated, and make it more enjoyable.

Motivation for school has not been too bad this year since it’s my last year of high school I pretty much just want to get everything done! It makes it more enjoyable when you’re more motivated, too.

  • Get things together for university.

Yes!! Definitely have made huge progress with this! I will keep posting about my progress and working towards university as much as I can. You can read about my progress here!

  • Keep pushing myself in my workouts and maybe do a 5k or something like that.
I did not run a 5k but I built up a lot more strength over the year and can now run faster and for longer than before!
Completing goals is always a nice little victory. Let me know goals you’re proud of that you completed and good luck with your new goals!

365 Days Of Photos 2017

One of my 2017 goals is to take a photo for every day in the year, just for fun and to make me keep up photography and to help improve my photography skills. I went through Pinterest looking at different monthly photo challenges for prompts on what the pics will be of and these are my 12 favourites that I’ll be using for 2017.
